Data + AI meetups, close to home
Small Batch Meetup is a small Data + AI meetup for people who live or work in California’s Tri-Valley. Every experience level is welcome! Just 10 seats, and it’s free. Join on Luma to hear about the next meetup!
- Meet and chat
- One deep dive
- Lightning talks
What you get
Small on purpose, so everyone gets to talk.
Meet people nearby
Data + AI folks from around the Tri-Valley. The kind you grab coffee with next week.
See real work
Every batch, someone walks through what they built, the numbers behind it, and what they learned.
Show what you’re working on
Share a project, a tool, or a lesson learned in a five-minute lightning talk, right on the spot. Whatever your level, the room wants to hear it!
How a batch runs
About two hours, the same rhythm every time, so all you do is show up and join in!
Meet and chat
Grab a drink, say hi, and get to know each other.
One deep dive
One member walks through real work for about 20 minutes, then takes questions.
Lightning talks
Five minutes each, right on the spot: share something cool you’ve been working on. No prep needed!
Hang out
Keep the conversation going, and stay as long as you like. Want to give a deep dive at a future meetup? Just let us know!
Who’s invited
Data engineers, platform and infrastructure folks, analytics engineers, and anyone wiring AI into real data systems. If you live or work in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, or Danville, this is your room. Students, career changers, and seasoned engineers are all welcome, and “I haven’t used that yet” is a perfectly good thing to say.
Expect talks about pipelines, lakehouses and warehouses, semantic layers, RAG over company data, agents that query databases, evals, and what all of it costs.
Give a lightning talk
Lightning talks happen on the spot: anyone can take five minutes to share something cool they’ve been working on or want to talk about. No prep needed!
- a tool you tried
- a bug you fixed
- a dashboard you’re proud of
- a paper you liked
- something you’re learning

Offer a deep diveWhy Small Batch
Meetups have grown my knowledge and experience more than almost anything else. With so much work now remote and AI reshaping the field, meeting face to face matters more than ever. I enjoy the meetups in San Francisco and San Jose, and I wanted one close to home too, a place where we can swap stories, see familiar faces, and make friends who care about the same things. Hope to see you there!
